Where KenPom ranks Alabama basketball following road win at Auburn

Even despite having played one of the nation’s toughest schedules this season, the Alabama Crimson Tide played what was likely their toughest test yet Saturday afternoon, traveling to Neville Arena for a rematch against the rival Auburn Tigers.

A rematch from a few weeks ago in which Auburn won in Tuscaloosa, it was Alabama however that got the best of the Tigers on Saturday afternoon, winning by a final score of 93-91 in a game that went to overtime. Alabama also won in a memorable way, as guard Mark Sears knocked down a buzzer-beating floater as time expired to give the Crimson Tide the victory.

With the result, Alabama officially ended the regular season with a 24-7 overall record, as well as 13-5 in SEC action to sit third in the conference’s standings. However, did Alabama move in the latest KenPom rankings after this win Saturday?

As of Saturday night, Alabama ranks as the nation’s No. 6 team according to KenPom with a rating of +29.81. The Crimson Tide are also considered as the nation’s No. 4 team in offensive efficiency, as well as No. 31 in defensive efficiency.

With the regular season having now concluded, Alabama’s next game will come later this week as part of the SEC Tournament in Nashville, Tennessee. The Crimson Tide will come to Nashville as the SEC’s No. 3 overall seed, and will play Friday against an opponent that is currently to be determined.
