Jaylon Braxton injury update: Arkansas football vs Texas A&M availability report

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas football listed defensive backs Jaylon Braxton and Hudson Clark as questionable in the the first SEC availability report of the week, leading up to Saturday’s game against Texas A&M (2:30 p.m., ESPN).

The Razorbacks (3-1, 1-0 SEC) and Aggies (3-1, 1-0) both have key players questionable, with Texas A&M listing quarterback Conner Weigman under that designation. Offensive lineman Patrick Kutas remains out for Arkansas.

Braxton did not travel to Auburn and played zero snaps despite dressing out against UAB. Pittman sounded confident last week that Braxton would be able to play, but he was ruled out Wednesday in the SEC availability report. Pittman described Braxton’s injury as tendinitis.

Clark only logged seven snaps in the loss to Oklahoma State before sustaining a back injury, and he did not play against UAB or Auburn. Clark’s versatility has been a big loss for the Arkansas defense, taking away the Razorbacks backup safety and slot cornerback.

The Razorbacks face the Aggies at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, with the game available to watch on ESPN. This represents the final matchup between the two teams inside the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium, with the contract set to run out and Texas A&M scheduled to visit Fayetteville next season.

This is the first year the SEC is requiring its schools to provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes to participate in conference games. The protocol stretches across football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and baseball.

There will be updated reports provided Thursday and Friday night, with a final update released 90 minutes before game time.

Here’s the updated availability status…
