After Wednesday’s practice, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney shared an update on freshman wide receiver Bryant Wesco’s injury status. Swinney confirmed that Wesco has been practicing as usual this week and appears to be on track to play in Clemson’s upcoming matchup against Stanford.
When asked if Wesco would be available for Saturday’s game, Swinney responded confidently. “Yeah, absolutely,” he said.
Wesco was limited to 16 snaps during last weekend’s win over NC State, managing just one catch. On Tuesday, Swinney elaborated on Wesco’s condition, saying, “Wesco is back. He is practicing. He is just a little sore. We could have put him back in the game if we needed him, but we decided to hold him out.”
Through three games this season, the talented 6-foot-2 freshman from Texas has made five receptions for 134 yards and scored one touchdown. Clemson’s game against Stanford will kick off at 7 p.m. Saturday at Death Valley, airing on ESPN.
