Oklahoma State football transfer quarterback Gunnar Gundy got injured during Emporia State’s 14-9 road loss to Northwest Missouri State on Saturday.
Gundy, who is the son of OSU head coach Mike Gundy, completed six of his 21 passes (28.6%) for 50 yards, one touchdown and one interception before he exited the game in the second quarter with an injury. He didn’t return, and No. 11-ranked Emporia State (4-1, 3-1 MIAA) suffered its first loss of the season.
Gundy was off to a hot start to the season prior to his injury. He completed 127 of his 194 passes (65.5%) for 1,215 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions in his first four games with Emporia State, a Division II program in Kansas.
Gundy spent the first three seasons of his college career at OSU. The former Stillwater High standout then transferred to Emporia State on July 23.
Next up for Emporia State is a home game against Northeastern State at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5.
