As the Alabama Crimson Tide look to get back on their winning ways this upcoming Saturday, they will have to do it however against a challenging opponent in the Missouri Tigers.
An opponent that Alabama isn’t necessarily as familiar with as some in the SEC, the Crimson Tide and Tigers have met only four times since Missouri officially joined the conference back in 2012, as well as only seven times ever.
Over their head-to-head series history, Alabama owns a 5-2 advantage all-time against Missouri, with all five wins coming in the most recent games. Missouri’s lone two wins came in 1968 and 1975, with Alabama’s winning streak starting in 1978, and most recently was extended to five-straight in 2020.
Since joining the SEC in 2012, Missouri is 0-4 against Alabama, with the Crimson Tide having outscored the Tigers a combined 161-52. Likely the biggest meeting during that span was in the 2014 SEC Championship Game in Atlanta, with Alabama topping Missouri, 42-13, in the Georgia Dome.
The most recent meeting was in Tuscaloosa in 2020, a game in which the Crimson Tide won by a final score of 38-19 in Columbia. Alabama’s lone game against Missouri in Tuscaloosa ever also took place in 2018 where the Crimson Tide won by a final score of 39-10.
