The Auburn Tigers have the chance of playing spoiler on Saturday, as they welcome one of the top teams in the SEC to Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Texas A&M, who holds a 5-1 record in SEC play, grabs the No. 14 spot in this week’s US LBM Coaches Poll after its 38-3 win over New Mexico State last Saturday at Kyle Field. The Aggies are one of six teams that remain in the hunt for a slot at the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta on Dec. 7, and Auburn hopes to ruin their chances on Saturday.
Texas A&M is one of seven SEC teams to crack the top 25 of the US LBM Coaches Poll this week, with two teams from the conference being removed from consideration.
Missouri and LSU, who ranked No. 21 and No. 22 respectively, were dropped from this week’s rankings after losing games on the road to South Carolina and Florida. South Carolina jumped four spots to No. 19 after taking down Missouri last Saturday.
Texas is the SEC’s highest-ranked team at No. 3, followed by No. 7 Alabama, No. 8 Georgia, No. 9 Ole Miss, No. 11 Tennessee, No. 14 Texas A&M, and No. 19 South Carolina.
Auburn welcomes the No. 14 Aggies to Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT. The SEC showdown will be broadcast on ESPN.
