We’re going to be releasing our lohud football all-stars and all-county teams in the coming days. There will be a one noticeable change. We’re going to name a player of the year from a Section 1 program in Westchester and Putnam, a player of the year from a Section 1 program in Rockland and a player of the year from a CHSFL or private school program in Westchester.
There is an opportunity, too, for you to weigh in on a readers choice player of the year.
Please review the list of candidates below and vote for your favorite player. All of them were a big part of winning campaigns. The poll will stay open until Monday at noon. We’ll include the winner in the upcoming all-star packages.

The junior running back was a dual threat all season and led the Gaels to a CHSFL AAA and state title. He delivered 1,350 yards rushing, 728 yards receiving and scored 23 touchdowns.

The sophomore running back and linebacker enjoyed a breakout season, leading the Vikings to a Section 1 Class C championship and NYSPHSAA semifinal appearance. He ran for 1,229 yards and 18 TDs and led his team in tackles.
