No. 2 player in 2026 class puts Oregon Ducks among top schools

The Oregon Ducks are focused on the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Rose Bowl matchup coming in a few days, but in the background, they are still making waves in the recruiting world.

On Sunday, 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho announced that there are currently two teams who are leading the way in his recruitment. Those two teams are the Ducks and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Iheanacho is one of the top players in the 2026 class, rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 2 overall player in the nation, and the No. 2 offensive tackle, behind 5-star OT Jackson Cantwell.

The Ducks hosted Iheanacho on a visit earlier this year during the Saturday Night Live camp in August, where he got to work out in front of the coaches and go through drills while the staff assessed him.

We will likely see him take a visit to Oregon in the coming months as he continues to narrow down his recruitment, but at the moment, the Ducks seem to be sitting in a pretty good spot to land the blue-chip player from Rockville, Maryland.
