Wisconsin football is in contention to land class of 2026 safety Braylon Edwards.
The Badgers are one of several notable programs to schedule an official visit with the three-star recruit. According to Rivals’ Adam Gorney, Edwards is scheduled to visit Auburn the weekend of May 30, Utah from June 7-9, Wisconsin from June 13-15 and Arkansas from June 20-22. Gorney also notes that Vanderbilt and Texas Tech are in the mix, though neither has locked in an official visit date.
247Sports currently ranks Edwards as the No. 76 safety in the class of 2026 and the No. 122 recruit from his home state of Texas. It has yet to release a prediction for his commitment. On3’s prediction machine currently sees an even race between those mentioned top contenders: Arkansas, Auburn, Wisconsin and Utah. It also sees in-state SMU as a potential option, though the program has yet to schedule an official visit with the three-star safety.
Wisconsin’s class of 2026 still has just one player committed: three-star lineman Benjamin Novak. The program is still scheduling its June official visit weekends. Edwards joins a growing list of top targets at this early stage in the cycle.
The Badgers have recruited the cornerback and safety positions well since Luke Fickell’s hire in November 2022. They have struggled to retain those players, however. Wisconsin saw freshman cornerback Xavier Lucas, redshirt freshman Amare Snowden and several others transfer out during the winter window. That movement added both secondary positions to the program’s list of major needs in the upcoming recruiting cycle.
