Texas A&M is a finalist to land 2026 3-star TE out of Nebraska

Since the arrival of Texas A&M offensive coordinator Collin Klein, tight end has become one of the most critical positions on the roster, similar to former head coach Jimbo Fisher’s heightened recruiting focus during his six-year stint.

Last season, head coach Mike Elko and Klein utilized the transfer portal, landing veteran tight ends such as Tre Watson and Shane Calhoun to provide depth. Still, neither player became consistent threats in the passing game, leading to adding former Alabama and Texas Tech TE Amari Niblack, while 2025 4-star signee Kiotti Armstrong will also join what now looks like a deep tight end room led by junior Theo Melin Öhrström.

In the 2026 recruting class, four-star Caleb Tafua is the only tight end signing among the eight Aggie commits. Still, as of this week, three-star Nebraska-based tight end Issac Jensen has placed Texas A&M in his top 10 program list, joining Notre Dame, Missouri, Auburn, Florida State, Kansas State, LSU, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Iowa State.

Standing at 6’6″ and 205 pounds, Jensen is already an established run blocker but will need to gain weight at the next level to fill out his frame, while his size and impressive athleticism make him an ascending threat in the passing game.

Like most modern-age tight ends, Jensen splits out wide to create mismatches in the passing game, something that has caught the eye of Collin Klein is well aquanted with recruiting prospects out of the midwest during his time as Kansas State’s OC.

According to 247Sports, Issac Jenson is currently positioned as the 40th-ranked tight end and the 5th-ranked prospect in Nebraska.
