4-star CB Chauncey Kennon puts Oregon Football among top schools

Over the past few years, Dan Lanning and the Oregon Ducks have been able to land some of the best defensive backs in the nation out of the high school ranks, with guys like Na’eem Offord, Trey McNutt, Ify Obidegwu, Aaron Flowers, and Jahlil Florence headlining the haul.

The trend doesn’t look like it’s going to stop any time soon, either, with Oregon landing among the top schools for one of the best cornerbacks in the 2026 recruiting class.

On Tuesday, 4-star CB Chauncey Kennon announced his top six schools, listing the Ducks alongside the Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, LSU Tigers, and Florida State Seminoles. Kennon is rated by 247Sports as the No. 28 player in the class, and the No. 2 CB in the nation.

Standing at 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, Kennon is a rangy cornerback that fits the mold of taller defenders that the Ducks have been targeting over the past couple of years. He comes from Sarasota, Florida, so distance could be a factor in his recruitment, but the Ducks have obviously caught his eye, as they are the only school in his top six that isn’t in Florida or Georgia.
