Watch Shedeur Sanders’ high school football highlights

Shedeur Sanders, one of the most electrifying college players — both on the field and for off-the-field discourse — is headed to the NFL. The Colorado quarterback was selected 144th overall on Saturday afternoon, setting the stage for him to grow off his stellar season of 4,134 passing yards at a 74% clip for 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

His ability blossomed in high school, where he emerged as a four-star recruit on the 247Sports Composite ranking. At Trinity Leadership (Cedar Hill, Texas), he broke the 3,000-yard passing mark as both a junior and senior, but truly thrived in his final year, when he passed for 3,477 yards and completed 73.7% of his passes to go with 47 passing touchdowns to just four interceptions. He added 11 more rushing touchdowns that season.

That catapulted him to success at Jackson State and Colorado, coached under his dad Deion Sanders at both stops. See his highlights from high school here.
