One of the top quarterbacks in the class of 2027 committed to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Thursday afternoon. Four-star recruit Trae Taylor announced the news on the 247Sports YouTube channel.
Taylor was deciding among four potential suitors. The QB will choose the Huskers over the Illinois Fighting Illini, the LSU Tigers, or the Texas A&M Aggies for his college destination.
According to the On3 recruiting rankings, he is ranked as the No. 3 player in the state of Illinois for 2027 and the No. 12 quarterback in the country. Last season, Taylor threw for 3,061 yards and 20 touchdowns for Carmel Catholic High School in Mundelein, IL.
Taylor will join the Huskers in two seasons and is expected to join a quarterback room that features Dylan Raiola, TJ Lateef, Marcos Davila, and Bode Soukup. Nebraska is also expected to add class of 2026 quarterback Dayton Raiola to its ranks after this upcoming year.
