MSU football offers NIU commit, 3-star edge rusher Max Carmicle

Michigan State football has extended an offer to three-star edge rusher Max Carmicle, who is currently committed to Northern Illinois

Michigan State football is looking to flip a Mid-American Conference commit in the 2026 class.

Max Carmicle of Country Club Hills, Ill. announced on Friday that he’s received an offer from the Spartans. Carmicle posted on his social media X account about the offer from the Spartans.

Carmicle is a three-star edge rusher in the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. He is currently committed to Northern Illinois, and has been so since January.

Carmicle ranks as the No. 67 edge rusher in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2026 class. He is also listed as the No. 21 player from Illinois and No. 920 overall prospect in the class.

Michigan State is one of more than 10 schools to extend an offer to Carmicle, according to 247Sports. Other schools that have offered Carmicle outside of Michigan State and Northern Illinois are Cincinnati, Iowa State, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas State, Minnesota, Purdue, Wisconsin and Western Michigan.
