Wisconsin football adds transfer portal long snapper Andrew Goodman

Wisconsin football landed a commitment from transfer specialist Andrew Goodman on Friday.

The redshirt junior long snapper spent the 2024 season as a walk-on at Tulane, though he did not appear to see any game action. His college career has also included stops at Simon Fraser (Division II) and Bryant (Football Championship Subdivision).

Goodman is Wisconsin’s sixth transfer addition of the spring and its second long snapper, following Purdue transfer Nick Levy. He is also the team’s second transfer addition from Tulane, along with defensive lineman Parker Petersen. Goodman, a Montreal, Quebec, native, will join the Badgers as a walk-on. He noted that he ‘decided to move a little closer to home’ in choosing the program.

The experienced long-snapper will likely get a chance to compete for the team’s starting job in 2026, with Levy the team’s write-in starter entering 2025. Levy has started 36 games over the last three seasons — 24 at William & Mary (FCS) from 2022-23 and 12 at Purdue last season.

The rest of Wisconsin’s specialist positions appear unchanged from the 2024 campaign. Veteran Nathanial Vakos is back to handle the kicking duties, with 2024 standout Atticus Bertrams again in place as the starting punter.
