Network set for Texas at Ohio State

FOX will carry the mammoth season-opening tilt between the Texas Longhorns and the Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Aug. 30, the network announced on Monday.

While the game time was not revealed on Monday, the expectation is that the rematch of the College Football Playoff semifinal will be a Big Noon Kickoff at 11 a.m. Central, sparking backlash on social media from fans who want a prime-time matchup under the lights at the Horseshoe.

Ohio State won the Cotton Bowl game back in January, 28-14, after a goal-line stand in the fourth quarter turned into a fumble return for a touchdown by Jack Sawyer.

The 2025 season opener marks only the fifth all-time matchup between the two college football blue-blood programs, all coming since the home-and-home series began in 2005 with an iconic upset by Texas in Columbus that helped propel the Longhorns to the national championship.

Ohio State won in Austin the following year before another instant classic won by Texas, 24-21, in the 2009 Fiesta Bowl.
