Notre Dame football continued to add to its impressive 2026 recruiting class on Wednesday, as Texas running back Jonaz Walton picked the Irish over Stanford, Alabama, Florida and Tennessee.
The 5-foot, 9-inch and 205-pound back becomes commitment No. 16 for Notre Dame, in a class that is viewed as one of the best in the country. With Javian Osborne, the pair make one of the best verbal duos in the nation.
Walton is ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 125 overall prospect, giving the Irish yet another top rated ball-carrier. While he is on the smaller side, we’ve seen Notre Dame have plenty of success with backs having a similar frame, Kyren Williams being a great example.
Notre Dame is taking advantage of its momentum on the recruiting trail following its run to the College Football Playoff championship game, and that doesn’t look like it will be slowing down any time soon.
