The Georgia Bulldogs are in the contenders for another elite safety recruit. Four-star safety Tamarion Watkins listed Georgia in his top four schools, according to On3. He will choose among Georgia, Texas A&M, Miami, and South Carolina.
Watkins is a four-star safety from the class of 2026. He plays high school football at Northwestern High School in Rock Hill, South Carolina. In his junior season, he totaled 75 tackles, eight tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, a forced fumble and fumble recovery, and three interceptions. He also blocked a punt.
Watkins has an official visit scheduled with Georgia on June 6, but he also has visits with Georgia Tech, Alabama, Texas A&M, and South Carolina, a which is just 69 mile drive from his hometown. He also attended Georgia’s junior day, but South Carolina the best chance to land him, according to On3’s recruiting predictor.
If Watkins were to commit to Georgia, he’d join a 2026 safety room that includes four-star recruitss Zech Fort and Jordan Smith, along with three-star Kealan Jones. Georgia’s recruiting class currently sits at 12th in the nation, according to 247Sports. The Bulldogs made significant recruiting strides in the past month with none being bigger than landing five-star quarterback Jared Curtis.
Watkins is the 28th ranked prospect from South Carolina. He is also the 7th ranked safety prospect from the class of 2026. He’s the No. 342 recruit in the nation.
