2026 lineman commits to Vols over USC, Ole Miss, Clemson, Georgia

Tennessee added another commitment to its 2026 football recruiting class.

Four-star defensive lineman Zach Groves committed to the Vols on Wednesday. He committed to Tennessee over USC, Clemson, Georgia and Ole Miss.

“For the next 3-4 years, I will be committing to the University of Tennessee,” Groves announced.

The 6-foot-4, 252-pound prospect is an in-state commitment from East Robertson High School in Cross Plains, Tennessee. 247Sports ranks Groves as the No. 25 edge prospect in the 2026 and No. 7 player in Tennessee.

The Vols offered him a scholarship during an unofficial visit on July 29, 2023. Groves unofficially visited Tennessee for the Kent State game on Sept. 14, 2024 and on Dec. 14, 2024. He has official visits scheduled to Ole Miss, Tennessee and USC in June.

Tennessee has eight commitments in its 2026 football recruiting class. The Vols’ other seven 2026 commitments include quarterback Faizon Brandon, wide receiver Tyreek King, tight end Carson Sneed, offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda, wide receiver Tyran Evans, linebacker Braylon Outlaw and defensive lineman C.J. Edwards.
