Wisconsin football was quiet during the spring transfer window, at least compared to the winter period.
After Wisconsin saw 23 players exit during the winter window, only six players departed during the spring. That trend was also reflected in the program’s additions, which dropped from 19 in the winter to five in the spring.
Those tallies shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. Wisconsin did most of its roster work during the winter window, reshaping its quarterback room, defensive front seven and more. The spring period then allowed Luke Fickell and his staff to make finishing touches to the roster. Their most notable moves came at positions that lost projected starters during spring practice, whether to the portal or injury.
In all, Wisconsin’s combined winter and spring transfer class ranks No. 14 in the nation and No. 3 in the Big Ten. 247Sports lists seven blue-chip players among 21 total scholarship additions. The total commitment number differs from the two cycles’ combined numbers due to several winter additions reentering the portal during the spring.
