The Texas Tech’s men’s basketball team will play Brigham Young, Colorado and Houston both home and away this coming season under the Big 12’s conference schedule plan released on Thursday, June 12.

The Red Raiders will play home games only against Cincinnati, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU and Utah. They’ll play road games only against Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Central Florida, Iowa State and West Virginia.

The Tech men finished 28-9 last season and 15-5 in the Big 12 for second place, four games behind champion Houston. The Red Raiders reached the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament before losing to Florida, which went on to win the championship.

Since the season ended, key players such as consensus second-team all-American J.T. Toppin and standout freshman Christian Anderson Jr. announced plans to stay for another year. Tech also gave coach Grant McCasland a one-year contract extension that takes the contract through the 2030-31 season.

The Big 12 is reverting to an 18-game conference schedule after playing a 20-game conference schedule last season.

Dates, times and television coverage will be announced later.

Each Big 12 team plays three conference opponents both home and away and faces each of the other opponents once. Big 12 officials said each team’s opponents were selected to balance the schedule for travel and competitiveness.
