On the same day that Colorado officially lost its leading rusher to an SEC program, Deion Sanders and the Buffs landed an experienced running back to their roster.
According to 247Sports, former Coastal Carolina and Mississippi State running back Simeon Price committed to Colorado.
Last season with the Chanticleers, Price accumulated 143 yards of offense on 46 touches in nine games. Price began his career at Mississippi State, playing 24 games for the Bulldogs. He redshirted in 2021 but led the team with 68 rushing yards on seven attempts in the 2023 ReliaQuest Bowl.
Price was a top 100 Florida recruit in 2021 and held several offers from top schools, including Oklahoma and Tennessee. His recruiting pedigree was high, and he will be tasked with living up to that standard during his final season of eligibility at Colorado.
Colorado’s rushing attack struggled mightily in 2024, finishing last in the Big 12 with just 847 yards and an average of only 2.5 yards per carry.
Price joins a running back room featuring sophomore Micah Welch, junior Dallan Hayden and transfer DeKalon Taylor as the only suitable options. It seems likely that Price will get a shot at contributing from the get-go.
