Florida Football Recruiting: WR Marquez Daniel commitment

The early summer recruiting blitz continues for Florida football with the addition of four-star wide receiver Marquez Daniel this weekend as part of a trio of commitments from the 2026 cycle to the Orange and Blue the past few days.

The towering 6-foot-5-inch, 195-pound pass-catcher out of Tuskegee (Alabama) Booker T. Washington chose the Gators out of 29 total offers, including the Auburn Tigers, with whom he made several stops over during his recruitment — including an official visit back on June 6. Daniel was in Gainesville this weekend for an OV when he gave UF his verbal commitment.

Wide receivers coach Billy Gonzales served as the point man in the rising senior’s recruitment, providing Daniel with support and sage advice.

“He talks to me every day,” Daniel told Swamp247. “He lets me know what I’m doing wrong and doing right.”

Now, it is up to Florida to keep the young receiver in the fold until signing day, which will be a challenge in of itself, given that Auburn is less than a half hour away from his hometown and other SEC schools will likely be looking to poach his talents as well. Much will depend on how well the Gators perform on the field this coming fall.

Marquez Daniel’s Recruiting Summary

Daniel is ranked No. 178 overall and No. 25 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 162 and 24, respectively.
