A top priority target for the Spartans in the 2026 class has picked up an offer from one of the biggest programs in college football.
Samson Gash of Novi, Mich. picked up an offer from Alabama on Saturday. The offer from the Crimson Tide came after working out with the Alabama staff this weekend, per a post from him on social media platform X.
Gash is a three-star wide receiver in the 2026 class that plays for Michigan high school powerhouse program Detroit Catholic Central. He currently holds a recruiting rating of 89 but is quickly rising up the recruiting boards, with the opportunity to eventually become a four-star prospect.
Gash is ranked as the No. 49 wide receiver in 247Sports’ rankings for the 2026 class. He is also listed as the No. 4 player from Michigan in the class.
Gash is a priority target for the Spartans in the 2026 class, with Cincinnati and West Virginia previously being Michigan State’s top competitors for his commitment. However, Alabama entering the mix certainly changes things, making it now appear to be a recruiting battle between the Spartans and Crimson Tide for his commitment.
Gash said this past week that he was nearing a commitment soon, but the offer from Alabama could, of course, shake things up. We will need to monitor this recruitment closely for any additional updates in the coming days or weeks.
