SCHSL football playoff highlights: Riverside beats Greenville, 47-38
Highlights from Riverside’s win against Greenville, including two TDs by Warriors’ Mikkel Skinner and an incredible run by Greenville QB Banks Bouton.
Riverside defensive back Somad Eaddy, ranked as the state’s No. 17 overall player in the high school recruiting class of 2026, committed June 22 to Wake Forest.
Eaddy picked the Demon Deacons over six other power conference schools as well as others in NCAA Division 1. He was one of the Upstate’s top uncommitted rising seniors.
“Felt like home,” Eaddy said. “Me and all the coaches there have been building a relationship from the start. Being from North Carolina, it was only right to be back home.”
Eaddy (6-foot, 165) plays cornerback and some at linebacker for the Warriors. He said the plan at Wake Forest is for him to play cornerback and special teams.
Eaddy is a three-star recruit, according to by 247Sports, labeled as an athlete in its rankings. He would be the No. 2 cornerback and the No. 5 defensive back in South Carolina. Dorman safety Kentavion Anderson is No. 2 overall and committed to Clemson.
Among the other college offers extended to Eaddy were those from West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Maryland and Boston College.
Eaddy last season had three interceptions, returning one for an 85-yard touchdown, and 14 pass breakups to go with 32 tackles, including 27 solo stops.
He showed his versatility and athleticism when pressed into duty at wide receiver because of injuries to others at that position. In three games, he had 23 catches for 393 yards with three touchdowns.
