Detroit Cass Tech offensive lineman Khalief Canty Jr. committed to Missouri on Tuesday, June 24.
Canty, rated as one of the top offensive linemen in Michigan in the 2026 recruiting class, according to 247 Sports, committed to Missouri over Michigan State and Pittsburgh, among others.
Listed at 6 feet 5 and 305 pounds, Canty is a three-star offensive lineman according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings and rated as the ninth-best rising senior across all positions in Michigan. He announced his commitment to Missouri at the Rivals Five-Star high school football event at the Colts’ training facility in Indianapolis.
Canty, a bruising force on the left side of the offensive line, helped Cass Tech establish a balanced offense between run and pass as the Technicians swept through the playoffs on their way to the Division 1 state championship in 2024.
“He has really taken hold of the weight room this year,” Cass Tech coach Marvin Rushing said. “He’s transforming his body to give himself every chance to play early in his college career. … It’s his mindset and desire to play on Sundays. He’s starting to do everything on and off the field to make those dreams come true.”
He is expected to start at left tackle for the Technicians in 2025, making him a four-year starter at the position. Canty will join Western Michigan tackle (and former Michigan) interior lineman Raheem Anderson as the only four-year starters for Cass Tech on the offensive line.
