Michigan football has gotten two commitments on Wednesday, and it’s showing no signs of slowing down.
The Wolverines added a four-star wide receiver in Zion Robinson and four-star offensive lineman in Marky Walbridge, as the two join four-star defensive tackle Titan Davis, who committed on Monday. But will the maize and blue close on one of their top targets, who decides on Friday? It’s been unclear.
Until now.
After having his official visit to Ann Arbor this past weekend, there was optimism, albeit cautious, that the Wolverines were in a good position with 2026 Honolulu (Hawaii) Kamehameha four-star offensive tackle Malakai Lee. However, the SEC schools in contention — Alabama, Georgia, and Texas — had appeared to also feel confident. However, Michigan always was the constant, the most common denominator, in his recruitment.
And now, it looks like the Wolverines are poised to land Lee, with a prediction put in by On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
As noted, Lee is set to decide on Friday between Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, and Texas. Here is his scouting report from 247Sports:
From a traits standpoint, offensive linemen don’t come much better looking than Lee. He’s all of 6-6, 325 pounds with verified 36” arms and an 85”+ wingspan. He’s a fluid mover as well and has the feet, balance and frame to project as a tackle and could line up on either side, right or left in college. He plays a little hoops as well and checks off the multi-sport box for us. He uses his length well and has the ability to slide and mirror opposing edge rushers. He has added some physicality in the run game over the last year. He’s putting guys on their backs more but playing with a more aggressive edge to him is an area we think Lee can still improve on.
