Penn State adds 4-star tight end commitment

Penn State secured a major recruiting win on Wednesday after missing on several top prospects the week prior.

After a disappointing week, the Nittany Lions bounced back with a commitment from 4-star tight end Pierce Petersohn in the 2026 class.

Petersohn ranks as the No. 3 Minnesota recruit, No. 21 athlete and No. 342 overall recruit in the cycle, per the 247Sports composite rankings. He previously announced his two finalists as Penn State and in-state flagship Minnesota.

Petersohn played both ways in high school but is projected as a tight end at Penn State, marking another major win for Ty Howle in recruiting. His commitment makes him the 21st member of the class, which ranks No. 8 nationally and No. 3 in the Big Ten behind USC and Ohio State.

Petersohn, listed at 6-foot-5 and 195 pounds, is the first tight end to commit to Penn State in the class and is the only Minnesota native in the group.

The the Nittany Lions whiffed on a couple key prospects recently, they’re hoping to close out the cycle with a top-10 class, which could be aided by a few more commitments in the coming days.
