Where LSU football’s recruiting class ranks after latest commitment

LSU football earned a commitment from talented in-state cornerback Dez Ellis on Saturday. Ellis is the 11th player to join LSU’s 2026 class and the seventh Louisiana native.

Ellis is listed as an athlete and was recruited to play quarterback by other Power Four programs, but LSU sees Ellis as a corner. That makes Ellis the second corner of the class, joining California native Havon Finney.

Where does LSU’s 2026 class stand after the addition of Ellis?

According to On3/Rivals, LSU’s 2026 class ranks No. 6 in the country. LSU’s average recruit rating of 92.53 is the best in the country.According to 247Sports, LSU’s class ranks No. 13 in the country. The Tigers jumped four spots after the addition of Ellis. LSU’s average recruit rating of 94.24 is the best mark at 247Sports, too.

Wide receiver Tristen Keys and defensive tackle Richard Anderson headline the class. Both are five-stars and rank No. 1 nationally at their position, according to Rivals. Some big dominoes are set to fall in the coming weeks, with wide receiver Ethan Feaster and Lamar Brown scheduled to commit.
