The Big 12 lost a ton of talented wide receivers to the NFL this offseason.
Eight Big 12 wide receivers were selected during the 2025 NFL draft, headlined by Colorado’s Travis Hunter and Arizona’s Tetairoa McMillan. The Buffaloes had three receivers drafted, with LaJohntay Wester and Jimmy Horn Jr. joining Hunter as NFL selections.
Many programs, including the Buffs, went deep into the transfer portal to grab multiple experienced receivers to replace their departing talent.
A few elite receivers are returning to their programs, and some talent transferred in, so what can we expect from Big 12 passing attacks in 2025?

16. UCF Knights
Scott Frost is back in Orlando, overhauling most of the Knights’ roster. With the team breaking in a new starting quarterback, UCF’s passing attack doesn’t seem like a unit poised to do anything special. Four transfers project as the top four receivers: DJ Black (Limestone), Duane Thomas Jr. (Charlotte) and Chris Domercant (Chattanooga).
15. Oklahoma State Cowboys
Oklahoma State, despite a disappointing 2024 season, had a talented wide receiver room. However, that group will look entirely different with the Cowboys’ top three receivers all departing. Talyn Shettron is the top returning player and should slot in as the Cowboys’ top receiver. Jaylen Lloyd, a transfer from Nebraska, and Christian Fitzpatrick, a transfer from Marshall, will line up alongside Shettron. This group will have to gel, but has the potential to outperform its ranking.
