Social media reacts strongly to Scott Frost’s comments about Nebraska

Frost: “I said I wouldn’t leave (UCF) unless it was someplace you could win a national championship. I got tugged in a direction to try to help my alma mater and didn’t really want to do it. It wasn’t a good move. I’m lucky to get back to a place where I was a lot happier.”

Former Nebraska football head coach Scott Frost had some pointed comments about his time with the Huskers as reported by The Athletic’s Chris Vannini. Frost struggled during his time with the Huskers. All told, he went 16-31 in five seasons, which included a 10-26 record in Big Ten play. Frost never made a bowl game, coming close in the 2019 season after finishing 5-7.

The coach lasted 47 games with the Huskers, being dismissed on September 11, 2022, after an upset loss against Georgia Southern. He was more successful on the field as a player for Nebraska, as he compiled a 24-2 record as a starting quarterback. He led the 1997 Nebraska team to a national title over Tennessee, as the program finished 13-0 that year.

The present-day Frost had some time to reflect on his coaching job with Nebraska. When asked what he learned about his time as head coach in Lincoln, Frost had a simple response. “Don’t take the wrong job,” he noted.

Social media was buzzing over Frost’s comments, as the latter returns to UCF.

The comments

Yes he did

That was clear

Let’s be clear: The state of Nebraska (fan base, university, local media, etc.) has been veeeeery forgiving of Scott Frost’s failures. 90% of Power Five programs would’ve mocked him. Nebraska basically just tried to forget and move on. And yet he acts like HE is the victim? Damn.

Accountability
