Two B1G matchups at Kinnick Stadium have reached sellout status.
As of July 17, Iowa’s home games against Indiana and Minnesota have sold out.
The Hawkeyes will host Curt Cignetti’s Hoosiers– who are fresh off the back of a historic season at Indiana in which the program clinched a spot in the College Football Playoff— Sept. 27. Indiana is one of three CFP teams from 2024 on the schedule for Iowa, who will also host Penn State and Oregon in Iowa City, both of which have at least 1,000 tickets still available.
Minnesota, who come to Oct. 25, though less successful than the Hoosiers in 2024, still posted a 8-5 record and went 5-4 in B1G play. Given the Hawkeyes were only slightly better (also 8-5 with a 6-4 conference record), the matchup is set up to be competitive.
It is a bit of a surprise to see both games sold out before those of Oregon and Penn State, schools which traditionally boast football programs significantly stronger than those of Indiana and Minnesota.
Still, the sell outs are an indication of the atmosphere Kinnick Stadium generates on game days.
Iowa currently holds a 21-game sell out streak for home games, dating back to 2022. Kirk Ferentz’s squad opens their season Aug. 30 at home vs. Albany.
