As they do every Wednesday following the MLB All-Star game, ESPN has its annual ESPY’s show, and Notre Dame super-fan Shane Gillis was the host.
While he’s not everyone’s cup of tea, he managed to roast both Ohio State and Michigan, two of the Irish’s recent rivals, at once. The Buckeyes were represented due to defeating Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff championship game, with quarterback Will Howard being in attendance among others.
Gillis poked fun at the Buckeyes, saying they couldn’t beat the Wolverines even though they weren’t “cheating” anymore. He’d go on to mention that Michigan still hasn’t heard what punishment they’ll received for the sign stealing scandal, and if they’d face any judgement at all.
It was a funny moment during the show that featured many of them, as Gillis continues to show his Irish allegiance, even in the big moments. Recently he also predicted how Notre Dame would do this year, as you’ll be pleasantly surprised with his guess.
