Latest projections from College Football News has MSU bowling in 2026

Will Michigan State football reach bowl eligibility for the first time in three seasons? The latest projections from College Football News believes so.

College Football News released updated preseason bowl projections earlier this week, with the Spartans making the cut. Michigan State is slated to play in the GameAbove Sports Bowl against Toledo in College Football News’ latest projections. This bowl game will be played at Ford Field in Detroit on December 26.

Michigan State last played in a bowl game in 2021. The Spartans the only team in the Big Ten that hasn’t gone to at least one bowl game in the last three seasons.

Michigan State is projected to finish right around the bowl eligibility cut line, with a win over/under total of 5.5 for many betting services. This would suggest the experts are anticipating Michigan State will be right around last year’s record of 5-7, but hopefully with at least one more win this year to go bowling.

The Spartans open up the 2025 season on August 29 against Western Michigan. Kickoff from Spartan Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and the game will be televised on FS1.
