Pretty soon the preseason accolades for Notre Dame football will cease, because the regular season is drawing closer and closer.
But before the Fighting Irish kick off the 2025 college football season at Miami on August 31, the acknowledgements continue to roll in as ESPN released its preseason college football All-America team, which unsurprisingly features star running back Jeremiyah Love and cornerback Leonard Moore.Love is poised for even bigger numbers after rushing for 1,125 yards and 17 touchdowns last year, a key piece of a squad that made it all the way to the College Football Playoff national championship game. Despite ND’s deep backfield, Love is expected to get even more touches this fall because of his game-breaking ability.
Meanwhile, Moore is only a sophomore and is already one of the top cornerbacks in the country. He was the FWAA freshman defensive player of the year in 2024, when he led the Fighting Irish with 11 pass breakups and recorded two interceptions and two forced fumbles.
