On Friday afternoon, three Texas A&M football players, senior defensive lineman Albert Regis, senior safety Bryce Anderson, and sophomore wide receiver Ashton Bethel-Roman, spoke to the media after the Aggies’ 13th preseason practice, and had plenty to state regarding the state of the team and the progress made on both sides of the ball.

Taking the mic for the first time since last fall, Regis provided several updates about his personal life, as the senior is reportedly a new father and has just gotten engaged. On the field, Regis stated that, during last Saturday’s first and only scrimmage, the defense held its own.

At the same time, Bryce Anderson had plenty of praise for Ashton Bethel-Roman, who, despite barely seeing the field last season, has been working towards the No. 3 receiver spot this month. Roman, who flipped his commitment from Arkansas to Texas A&M in the 2024 recruiting class, is one of the fastest players on the roster, while his fluid route-running style and soft hands have made him one of the more talked-about players during the preseason.

“His tempo at which he runs his routes. He runs his routes at the same tempo. He’s so fast. He’s explosive. He can accelerate off the line. He gets from 0 to 100 real quick.”

When asked about starting quarterback Marcel Reed, Anderson stated, “Heisman runner. That’s what I feel like with Marcel.” That is quite the endorsement from someone who has faced Reed nearly every day over the last two weeks. In the secondary, Anderson confirmed…
