Big Ten Power Rankings entering Week 1 of 2025 football season

The 2025 college football season has finally arrived. Saturday’s Week 0 action included No. 22 Iowa State holding on to a narrow 24-21 win over No. 17 Kansas State, Stanford falling at Hawaii, UNLV hanging on to defeat Idaho State and Western Kentucky topping Phil Longo and Sam Houston State.

The runway is now clear for Week 1. Wisconsin will kick off against Miami (Ohio) as part of a crowded Thursday night slate. Other notable matchups include No. 25 Boise State at South Florida, Ohio at Rutgers, Buffalo at Minnesota and Nebraska at Cincinnati.

Those matchups, as well as Friday’s schedule, feel like a warmup to the marquee game of the weekend: No. 1 Texas at No. 3 Ohio State. The potential national title preview will be the national audience’s true introduction to the 2025 season.
