2027 4-star QB Peyton Houston finalizes date for official Texas Longhorns visit to Austin

As the Longhorns continue to add to their 2027 class, they got some good news on the recruiting front on Monday. Four-star QB Peyton Houston has locked in his visit to Austin for April 12, according to Sam Spiegelman of Rivals. While the Longhorns have made their interest clear, they do have some competition.

At the moment, Houston will be taking official visits to 11 schools. That list includes Oklahoma and Texas A&M, alongside notable SEC teams like LSU, Georgia, and Tennessee. The heavy interest comes following a stellar sophomore season in which Houston was a human highlight reel.

During his sophomore campaign, the talented QB threw for nearly 4,500 yards and 38 touchdowns. The Evangel Christian star also showed he can care for the football, only throwing seven interceptions. His ability to limit turnovers will be key at the college level. Rivals predict the No. 7 nationally-ranked quarterback to land at Oklahoma, but there is still plenty of time for Sarkisian to make his pitch.

Over the last few years, Sarkisian has had a lot of success on the recruiting trail regarding quarterbacks. That started with the No.1 overall recruit in the 2023 class in Arch Manning. He followed that up with All-American athlete and 2024 commit Trey Owens, five-star 2025 commit KJ Lacey, and 2026 commit Dia Bell. If he can work the same magic with Houston, then the Longhorns 2027 class will get a significant boost.

While no decision date is set, Houston should continue to make headlines as his list dwindles. Any program in the country would be lucky to have after the success he has had so far. With two years left in his high school career, he should continue to improve.

After his visit in April, Steve Sarkisian and his coaching staff hope that Houston sees the Longhorns as the best option for his college career.
