LSU‘s recruiting class is among the best in the country in the 2026 cycle, checking in at No. 8 the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings as we close out begin the month of August.
The Tigers hold pledges from a pair of five-stars and 11 other blue-chippers, as well as four more three-star prospects. Seven of their pledges project to play on the offensive side of the ball, with the other nine looking to help rebuild the program’s history of elite defenses.
Wide receiver have been a particular focus, as Brian Kelly and Co. have commitments from three of the nation’s top 31 players at the position. And that’s where the gem of the class sits as well in five-star wideout Tristen Keys, who chose LSU over Ole Miss, USC, Alabama, Tennessee and dozens of others back in March.
Top-100 wideout Jabari Mack (ranked No. 72 in the Rivals Industry Ranking) is another major piece to LSU’s wide receiver class, and he and four-star Kenny Darby both hail from inside the state’s borders. Of the Tigers’ 16 total commitments, nine are from the Boot and all rank among the state’s top 30 prospects.
In addition to Keys, LSU’s defensive staff has a pair of studs of their own in New Orleans Edna Karr elite defensive lineman Richard Anderson (No. 23 in the Rivals300) and University Lab (La.) five-star athlete Lamar Brown. While Brown just joined the class, Anderson has been pledged to the Tigers for nearly a year. They combined to form arguably the best defensive line class in the country this cycle. And earlier, LSU beat out Florida for coveted EDGE Trenton Henderson, the No. 5 player at his position nationally and a borderline five-star.
