ASU football WR Malik McClain discusses redshirt season, upcoming year
Arizona State football wide receiver Malik McClain explains what it was like to redshirt last year and what he is doing to prepare for 2025.
Former Arizona State football quarterback Jaden Rashada has transferred schools again; this time from Georgia to Sacramento State.
The 2023 four-star high school product (all recruiting/transfer ratings and rankings are as of 247Sports) transferred to Georgia after one year with the Sun Devils. As a Sun Devil, Rashada played three games, completing 53.7% of his passes for 5.9 yards per pass. As a Bulldog, he did not see the field.
Rashada will have three years of eligibility with FCS Sac State. He commits to the Hornets after being rated a three-star transfer portal prospect, and ranked as the No. 17 quarterback in the transfer portal. This comes two years after he was ranked as the No. 6 high school quarterback prospect in the nation.
Rashada weighs 15 more pounds (now at 6 feet, 4 inches tall and 190 pounds) than when he signed with ASU. He sat behind starter Carson Beck last season in Athens, but did not play in the SEC Championship Game when Beck suffered an injury. He also did not play in the Sugar Bowl (College Football Playoff Quarterfinal) when Beck was out for the whole game.
Gunner Stockton played over him in those two games and played in three others. Stockton will be back as the projected starter. Rashada entered the transfer portal 32 days after UGA also signed four-star quarterback Ryan Montgomery in their 2025 high school class.
