The Oklahoma Sooners appear to be closing in on another defensive commitment in the 2026 recruiting class. A week after Steve Wiltfong of On3 issued a prediction favoring the Sooners for four-star defensive tackle Brian Harris, the Sooners earned another prediction for the fast-rising prospect out of Mandarin High in Jacksonville, Fla.
The latest prediction dropped on Tuesday morning, with Marty Leap, who covers recruiting for Rivals, favoring the Oklahoma Sooners.
Harris is a four-star defensive tackle prospect, according to Rivals, and is currently listed at 6-foot-4 and 290 pounds. He has offers from a strong group of college programs, including Michigan, South Carolina, Alabama, Ole Miss, Colorado, Auburn, West Virginia, Mississippi State, N.C. State, Maryland, Louisville, Duke, and Penn State.
He was previously in Norman for Oklahoma’s Future Freaks weekend at the beginning of March and will be in Norman for an official visit on June 6. Harris is set to announce his commitment on Friday, March 23, and Oklahoma may be the team to beat.

As a player, Harris has really good size for the defensive line. What jumps off the screen the most is his quickness and the force with which he plays. He’s a violent player and blends a physical playing style with really good athleticism for a guy nearly 300 pounds. For Mandarin High, he lined up as a defensive end in three-man fronts a lot, showing off the ability to get around the corner to attack quarterbacks. He does a great job in backside pursuit, displaying a strong motor to get down the line and chase the running back down from behind.
