One day after Michigan football signed a four-star defensive edge, the program added more reinforcements along the line.
Alister Vallejo, a three-star defensive tackle in the class of 2026 from Liberty Hill High School in Liberty Hill, Texas, pledged to join U-M on Tuesday, June 10. He visited Notre Dame last week and the Irish seemed to be out front for his services, but defensive line coach Lou Esposito swooped in to secure the commitment from the 6-foot-3, 310-pound prospect.
“Go Blue,” he posted on social media confirming the decision.
Vallejo has drawn comparisons stylistically to Mason Graham.
Still, he’s ranked as the No. 48 defensive lineman in the class, No. 61 player in Texas and No. 443 nationally overall, per 247 Sports’ composite rankings.
Vallejo makes nine commits for Sherrone Moore’s squad in the class of 2026, which has gone from No. 47 to No. 31 in just more than 24 hours. The Wolverines, like many schools, frequently turn up the heat on recruits in June, hosting handfuls of players on official visits every weekend.
The expectation is this is just the beginning of what should be a busy month of adding to the next freshman class of Wolverines.
