Clemson football’s wide receiver room has gone from a question mark to one of the most talked-about position groups in the country — and the national media is taking notice. CBS Sports recently ranked the Tigers’ receivers No. 2 in the nation, behind only Ohio State, highlighting the dramatic resurgence under Dabo Swinney and offensive coordinator Garrett Riley.
“Clemson is working its way back into the ‘WRU’ conversation,” CBS Sports’ Will Backus wrote, noting the program’s return to form after a few down years at the position. Leading the charge is veteran Antonio Williams, a versatile 5-foot-11 playmaker who led the ACC with 11 receiving touchdowns in 2024. Known for his crisp route-running and chemistry with quarterback Cade Klubnik, Williams provides a steadying presence for a young, but extremely talented unit.
The Tigers return all three of their top receivers from last season, including rising sophomores Bryant Wesco and T.J. Moore, who both made immediate impacts as freshmen. Wesco finished with 708 yards and five touchdowns on 41 receptions, while Moore added 651 yards and five scores on 45 catches. Both bring a mix of size, speed, and ball skills that give Clemson big-play threats on the outside.
Also back is Tyler Brown, who led the team in receiving as a true freshman in 2023 with 52 catches for 531 yards and four touchdowns before redshirting last season due to injury. Now fully healthy, Brown adds even more depth to a group already loaded with talent.
What once was a position of concern has quickly become a strength. With Williams anchoring the slot and a wave of young stars breaking out on the perimeter, Clemson looks poised to re-establish itself as one of college football’s premier programs for wide receiver development.
