No. 18 Tennessee will kick off its 2025 football season on Aug. 30 in Week 1. Rankings reflect the US LBM Coaches Poll.
The Vols will face Syracuse in their season opener at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia. The Aflac Kickoff is slated for noon EDT and ABC will televise the nonconference matchup.
The Orange are receiving 16 votes in the preseason top 25 US LBM Coaches Poll.
Nine teams from the Southeastern Conference are ranked entering the regular season. The Vols are joined by Texas (1), Georgia (4), Alabama (8), LSU (9), South Carolina (13), Ole Miss (15), Florida (17) and Texas A&M (21) in the US LBM Coaches Poll. Oklahoma, Missouri, Auburn, Arkansas and Vanderbilt are also receiving votes.
Ahead of Week 1 contests for SEC schools, Warren Nolan released regular-season record projections. Nolan Analytics projects Tennessee to finish its 2025 regular season with a 9-3 record, losing to Georgia, Alabama and Florida.
