Notre Dame social media reacts to the hiring of RB coach Ja’Juan Seider from Penn State

It might be safe to say that a rivalry is starting to build for Notre Dame football with one of the Big Ten’s top teams in Penn State.

The Irish took out the Nittany Lions in the College Football Playoff semifinals, and on Sunday they convinced running back coach Ja’Juan Seider to make the move from State College to South Bend.

It was not a move many saw coming, especially considering that both Penn State star running backs Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen are returning for their final collegiate season. Notre Dame counters with star Jeremiyah Love, Jadarian Price, and Aneyas Williams.

Although it was Super Bowl Sunday, plenty of people still went to social media to react to the news of the Irish hiring Seider. Find out below some of the best reactions to the hiring.

One of the best

While Seider isn’t talked as one of the top position coaches across the country, his track record is impressive. He has developed at a high level along with recruiting as well. His ties the Northeast along with Florida should give Notre Dame a boost with prospects in those areas.

Did Freeman know?

As former Irish offensive lineman Mike Golic Jr. points out, Freeman may have had eyes on Seider well before this move became official. Most likely he was aware of him, but the relationship may have changed following the Irish’s CFP win.

Love is a game-changer

While Seider got an up-close and personal look at the Irish, he was most likely focusing on his job to try and beat them. There is not doubt that this could have played a factor following the game, but you can’t help but wonder how much it played a part.

The whole package

A Ja’Juan Seider move from Penn State to Notre Dame may seem shocking from the outside but ND:

-Returns best RB in the country (Jeremiyah Love)
-Has top 3-5 OL group in America in 2025
-Has the best young HC in…
