Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel selected by Cleveland Browns

The Oregon Ducks have landed another quarterback in the NFL, with Dillon Gabriel being selected by the Cleveland Browns with the No. 94 overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft.

With the selection, Gabriel becomes the fourth Oregon quarterback to be drafted in the last decade and the 10th in the last 30 years. He was the 6th quarterback to be selected this year after leaving college with a few records under his belt, including the most starts by a QB, the second-most passing yards, and the most total touchdowns in college football history.

As a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2024, it comes as no surprise that an NFL team took a chance on Gabriel, although his frame — just 5-foot-11, 205 pounds — left many concerned about how impactful he could be at the next level.

Gabriel had a long college career, which started at Central Florida with the Golden Knights. After spending three years and throwing for 70 touchdowns, Gabriel transferred to the Oklahoma Sooners, where he added 55 TDs in two seasons. Finally, in his last year of eligibility, Gabriel followed in his good friend Marcus Mariota’s footsteps and came to Eugene, where he would lead the Ducks to a 13-1 record, a Big Ten Championship, and a No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff.

His NFL career will be an interesting one to watch play out, but the Browns is willing to give him a chance to prove himself.
